Hello internet. Tomorrow, my 2nd child - I gave her the fanciful name of THROW THE SUN INTO THE SEA (imagine that on the register) hits the grand old age of 2. Yes, unbelievably its now been 2 years since this little tyke was set free into the outside world to run with reckless abandon amongst the flowers. Or something.
Anyway, to celebrate this wondrous occasion (and in lieu of a cake, which is of course what I should be eating right now), I'd like to celebrate by offering a free download of the album to the first 5 people that reply to this post. So just reply on Facebook or Twitter and I will get you your download code!
It's always a joy to play a show that's in aid of a good cause, so I'm really looking forward to this one. I've been added to the bill for OXJAM Finchley, on Thursday November 7th at the Arts Depot in London.
An awesome evening of music and fun in aid of the world-changing work of Oxfam GB. Part of the nationwide Oxjam Music Festival, Oxjam Finchley is a collaboration between Justice Matters, The Finchley Jam and Create.
Tickets (£12) available online now, in person from organisers and from the Chipping Barnet Oxfam stores.
I'm gearing up to play at The London Acoustic Guitar Show this weekend at The Olympia in London. I'm super excited to be a part of this massive occasion and I will be playing the Acoustic Cafe stage at 3:30pm on Saturday 7th September.
Here's a preview from the Huffington Post: This show is one to make us glow with what almost feels like parental pride- because one of our favourite new artists is set to perform at The London Acoustic Guitar Show 2013. Rob Johnson has always impressed us with his high level of skill and gorgeous instrumental tunes, and now he'll be showcasing his talent at "the ultimate event for acoustic guitar and music enthusiasts'. Appearing on the weekend's bill alongside the likes of Ben Montague, Antonio Foricone and Matt Cardle; this is a prime opportunity for our fella to get spotted by some of the world's greatest acoustic players, industry bods and megafans alike. Go get 'em, Johnson!
I'm playing live at Westfield next Sunday - fulfilling a life long dream of playing outside Waitrose... so come down and hangout if you're in town!
Here's the Emerging Icons write up: "Our acoustic Sundays down at Westfield London continue with an impeccable instrumental showcase from the brilliant Rob Johnson. His skills as a guitarist take the spotlight as his brilliant, spellbinding tunes give acoustic music a whole new sound and a unique edge. This is a set that will more than likely stop passers-by dead in their tracks to investigate where the stunning stream of sound is coming from. Having spent a number of years in many different bands, collaborating with everything from film makers to composers, rockers and dub step artists; he is a master of his craft and a multi-skilled performer. Kinda like a Swiss Army Knife. But a sexy, musical one."
